1st/ 2nd year illustration scheme (5 weeks) 

This lesson plan is an example of the template I have used to devise the layout of a lesson,  containing all the aspects required to deliver a well balanced class, based on the stage of the unit of learning. The plan includes finer details such as:

• Room layout

• Student numbers

• Explicit lesson timing 

• Differentiation 

• Literacy & Numeracy (where applicable) 

• Resources 

• Materials 

• Learning intentions

• Success criteria

Students are given time at the beginning of each lesson to revisit their learning from the previous lesson and be made aware of the learning intentions for the current lesson and how to achieve the success criteria of this learning. Lessons are designed to balance students teacher interaction, so has to develop a reciprocal relationship of learning.

This lesson is apart of a Puppetry unit of learning. Students were in the 'Initial Ideas' stage and were looking at primary sources to inspire them for character development. Students were examining their primary source objects through various perspectives and drawing from observation. Students went on later to use these primary sources as inspiration for the theme of their puppet character design.  To view students work from this lesson, click 'view more'.
